Nu intelegeam eu acum ceva vreme de ce pe cutiile de Barbie En Ritmo de Rock (aka Barbie and The Rockers) din Brazilia aparea scris “Barbie & Bob“. Ma tot gandeam… who … …. is Bob? Si am gasit raspunsul! Daca va vine sa credeti, in Brazilia, in anii ’80, firma Estrela, care detinea licenta Mattel, l-a redenumit pe Ken in Bob! Este pentru prima oara cand am l-am vazut pe Ken redenumit. Teresa, Whitney, Christie sau alti prieteni au mai suferit “porecle” in functie de tara in care erau distribuiti, dar niciodata Ken sau Barbie. Ce ma surprinde este faptul ca mulajul de fata din primul catalog este foarte asemanator cu cel al lui Todd despre care am povestit mai demult.

Va rog sa va uitati si la cel de ai doilea catalog unde puteti vedea imagini cu Bob/Ken din seria “Em Ritmo De Rock“. Priceless!

I never understood why on the Brazilian box of Barbie En Ritmo de Rock (aka Barbie and The Rockers) there was written “Barbie & Bob“. I was thinking like who … …. is Bob? And then I found the answer! The Brazilian firm Estrela, that was under license from Mattel, renamed Ken into Bob in the 80s! It’s for the first time that I’ve seen Ken renamed. Teresa, Whitney, Christie or other friends were always renamed depending on the country they were sold in, but never Ken or Barbie. What I also find intriguing is that the face mold reminds me a lot of Todd’s that we have already talked about.

Also please take a look at the second catalogue where you’ll see pictures of Bob/Ken from the “Em Ritmo De Rock” series. Priceless!
