Here are some interesting sneaks from the Bill Greening Barbie Collector interview. First is a promo image of the New Year 2013 Barbie doll.

Then we had a sneak of the beautiful Happy Birthday Skipper doll that will be released next year for her 50th anniversary. She’s dressed in a rare Happy Birthday #1919 from 1965.

So exciting!!! Love the Skipper doll. :X

UPDATE: Ok, so I didn’t know there was a porcelain Skipper made for her 30th anniversary 20 year ago that looked THE SAME as this one. /:) Why do the same exact doll twice? What’s the point?

For several years now, I was hoping the 50th Anniversary Skipper would have been a SILKSTONE. And now it appears Bill Greening didn’t even know his 50th Anniversary Skipper was the same as the Porcelain 30th Ann. Skipper? Bill Greening may wear the badge of a Barbie Doll Designer, but he apparently had NOTHING to do with the design of the 50th Anniversary Skipper…. Same doll… but Mattel could not have made the 50th Anniversary Skipper in SILKSTONE. If the 50th Ann Skipper were to come in Silkstone, I would have no qualms about the Silkstone Skipper being identical to the Porcelain Skipper…. Someone at Mattel should be fired.
