Looks like Barbie has a lot of designers creating fashions for her this year. I just found this designer t-shirt on Toys ‘R Us Germany that is designed by German designer Guido Maria Kretschmer. Not really sure if it’s doll sized or it’s for kids. I hope it’s doll sized as I think designer fashions for Barbie are such a cool thing.
There are also a couple of new playline dolls and sets. First is the FAB Beetle VW that has the best dashboard I have ever seen on a Barbie car. Not sure if it’s a brand new car, but it’s the first time I’ve seen it. I haven’t payed that much attention to playline dolls lately. Too much pink, same old themes…
How amazing is that? Must have this set!
There are some new dolls from the upcoming Barbie movie “Barbie In The Nutcraker” (don’t they ever get tired of this theme?!) that are cute but not my thing.
One of the most awaited things in the playline Barbie world is the Advent calendar and here’s the 2014 one.
A new Ken doll has just been released on BarbieCollector.com and his name is Gianfranco™ Ken®. He’s part of the Silkstone line inspired by the Italian Alta Moda and he is said to be Italian.
Designed by: Robert Best
Release Date: 10/1/2014
Product Code: BDH41
No more than 3300 units produced worldwide.
Gianfranco™ Ken® doll sports a brushed cotton blazer featuring black flocked trim on the lapels and pockets, button details at the sleeves and a silky black lining. Underneath, is a white tailored shirt, narrow black satin tie and dark indigo jeans with turned up cuffs. Perfetto!
Call me crazy, but I don’t like him. His fashions are cute, but he is just plain boring. There is something about the male dolls from Mattel in the last years that just don’t do anything for me. Look at the guys from the Dynamite Girls series for example!
Almost the same price range but Auden is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better looking than this Ken. I’m sorry if you think I’m being harsh or something but I’m just dissapointed. Looks like I’m in aminority here because most collectors seem to like him but for me he’s a big no, no.
Charitybuzz is auctioning this amazing Venetian Muse™ Barbie® Doll prototype that is hand painted and features Swarovski crystals hand sewn on her dress plus additional beadwork around her peplum and gloves.
I didn’t care that much for the Tribal Beauty Barbie doll but this one has to be one of Linda’s finest creations. Good luck if you are bidding. This prototype is a true gem.
The most important party at MFDS 2014 has taken place this evening and the most awaited dolls of the convention were revealed! The convention doll is the beautiful “Fiorella Goes to Madrid” and she has been gently donated by Mattel USA. On her trip to Madrid her lips had changed to a red passion color, she recovered the bag she was sporting at the original Robert Best sketch and she has added to her accessories list a gold and pearl tiara inspired on one of the latest Dolce & Gabbana collections.
Also all the table hosts (I was supposed to e one…) got a stunning Paco Alcaide and Monlew Designs & CreationsOOAK doll called “Dolce Vita Golden Goddess”. Do I need to tell you HOW MUCH I like her? Congrats to all the people that got her. She’s a true beauty.
Barbie Ekberg Tribute is the name of these beautiful centerpiece dolls from the gala dinner at MFDS 2014. The dolls are designed by Paco Alcaide and they are wearing dresses hand sewn by Yolanda Cañete. Also they are a homage to one of the most iconic scenes in cinema history: Anita Ekberg inside the Fontana di Trevi in “La Dolce Vita” movie.
All the centerpieces were raffled among the atendees together with several other super gifts. I so envy the people that won them.
The updates from the Madrid Fashion Doll Show 2014 are continuing with the help of my friend Marcelo Jacob. One of the main events of the convention is the JAMIE Show doll event where a new character has been presented.
Meet Sofia! Isn’t she a beauty? Can’t wait for more details about her. Be sure to LIKE the JAMIE Show Facebook page.
Thank you, George for the honour.
Just for you, my dears! Images of the beautiful prototype of the Midnight Celebration Barbie doll created by Artist Creations for this year’s National Barbie Convention. Thank you Artist Creations and Marcelo Jacob for these images. You made my day!
What do you think about the prototype? Does Mattel’s version look better or not? I honestly love both of them. This one has a more elaborate broidery on the dress but the final version also looks stunning. I so wish I had this prototype thou…
Today was the first day of MFDS 2014 and the day ended with a great Pink Mod Party that was heald on he rooftop of the stunning Hotel Emperador in Madrid. It was organized by Zsa Zsa Party, Escuela Goymar, Pino Models Agency, Luis Robles and Ismael Make-Up Hair & Style and the atendees were served with some delicious cocktails specially created for the party by Culture Cocktails, with the help of Freixenet and Schweppes. Damn, I’m so sad I wasn’t there.
One of the special gifts given to all attendees was an outfit designed and handmade by Marcelo Jacob. The name of this outfit is Chess Mess and it’s an homage to the 60’s “groovy
outfits”. Mini dress featuring Op-Art print, white stockings, earrings created by Mónica Núñez del Castillo. It fits all kind of Fashion Dolls as you can see in the pictures: Barbie, Poppy Parker or Fashion Royalty are some of the lucky girls that have already tried it.
During the night some contests were held and the prize for them was an OOAK doll designed by Marcelo Jacob and Mónica Núñez del Castillo: Barbie Pink! Mod Party Doll. Two variations, Caucasian and Afro American, for a colorful and amazing MOD doll. Dressed in a mini dress featuring a fabulous print with matching belt, colorful stockings, pink earrings and go-go boots: these two dolls became the most desired item of the party. Aren’t they gorgeous! Congrats to the winner. Can’t wait to see IRL images of them.
