Mattel has surprised everyone with a new doll designed by Carlyle Nuera. The beautiful Claudette Gordon Barbie doll is part of a new series called Harlem Theater and she’ll come out this fall for a price tag of $85.
I’m so glad Mattel is doing more and more fully posable dolls and yey for the new facemold. Looks a bit like the Karl Lagerfeld one but with fuller lips.
What do you guys think of her?
Thank you Monica Nunez del Castillo and Lorena Sullivan for the images!
Lots of great things are happening at the National Barbie Collectors Convention. Same as each year, new and upcoming dolls have been displayed in the sales room and one of the is the very much awaited pink Tokidoki 2015 Barbie doll. No word yet on the purple version, unfortunately.
I wanted to share this new image because it gives a better look at the face and her doughnut headpiece.
Love her! She may be a bit “louder” then the first one, but she’s so much fun. Also, IMO, this is a doll that looks great in her box and I’m not saying this because I’m a NRFB collector. Her box is part of her visual story and I love that. I do like the sleek boxes Barbie dolls are using nowadays, but I miss the old intricate ones.

Zlatan Zukanovic, one of the designers from Mattel, has shared on his Instagram this INCREDIBLE OOAK Parisian Glamour Barbie Doll he has designed for the National Barbie Doll Collectors Convention‘s charity auction. *jaw drop*
This week the 2015 National Barbie® Doll Collectors Convention is taking place in Arlington and already a lot of collectors have already gathered in Arlington to celebrate the most famous doll.
My friend Lionel Masson from Spain is there with a delegation from Coleccionistas de Barbie en España and he was kind enought to let me post his images from the Ninimomo, Magia 2000 and Artist Creations parties. These are events that offer the atendees the opportunity to see first the creations from these artists and also purchase them. Check out below all the amazing dolls that were presented at the three events. In my opinnion, these are the best delegates they came up with like ever!
Have you attended the parties? I would love to know if any of my readers have attended or even bought some of these beauties. Can’t wait to see more images. Bill Greening has stated that the new Zombie Barbie doll will be displayed at the convention. I hope we’ll see IRL images as soon as possible.
I’m so excited and flattered to announce that I have teamed up with Doll Genie to bring you the latest reviews and news. This ias a huge step for me because I never dreamed or imagined that I would turn my passion for dolls in a…well…a job. A fun job that is alongside my good friend Susan and her amazing team. Well soon have a special page on her website where you’ll be able to read my reports and you can also find me on Tumblr and soon on Instagram.
My first review is for the beautiful Silkstone Levender Luxe Barbie doll. Check it out HERE (CLICK).
The amazing Haunted Beauty Barbie collection continues with a doll that just made me gasp. Something so unexpected that it took me 5 minutes of staring at the images and details and just contemplate on her beauty and uniqueness.
Haunted Beauty Zombie™ Barbie®Doll (CHX12) is, of course, designed by Bill Greening, is a Gold Label doll and will be released in autumn. She has a beautiful greyish skin tone, full dark grey hair, blue eyes, soft red makeup and lips and a pale pink ball gown wedding dress with puffy sleeves and lace. She is holding a small bouquet of what looks like water lilly (?) and has three a tiara made out of white roses that hold her veil.
I believe she’ll be a $100 doll but she’s so worth it!
2016 will be a great year for Silkstone collectors. As of right now, four of the European conventions have announced that their convention dolls will be exclusive Silkstones designed by Robert Best. As far as I know there will different dolls in each country. Mattel has learned from the disaster they made this year. I’m waiting for the Japanese Barbie Fanclub to announce but I believe they will also have an exclusive doll.
One of my favourite ebay sellers, Overstock.Tom, has now a listing for the beautiful Barbie Queen of the Dark Forest Barbie doll plus some images of her in her box. Can’t wait to get this girl! Bill really nailed it with this one and that touch of pink in the box is perfect. I’m not a pink lover but now somehow her dark attire and look just work amazing with the dark pink.
Comingsoon.net has some amazing images from SDCC 2015 and one of them is an IRL image of the Wonder Woman 2015 Barbie doll. As I expected, I love her! She really looks like a Barbie Collector and the details of the armour are well made. And look ar that articolation! And her arms! Wow! Well done, Mattel. I wonder how much she’s going to cost.
