I know I’m a bit late but now I can finally sit down at my computer and write about my trip to the 2015 Roma Fashion Doll Convention. As you may know already, this was the very first convention organized by Alessandro and Giuseppe from Artist Creations. I just could not pass the opportunity to go to the last doll convention from 2015 and here I was sitting on a plane and waiting to land in Rome.
The convention took place at a lovely hotel that I’m definetly going to book next time I’ll visit Rome. The name of the hotel is Barceló Aran Mantegna and it’s a 4 star modern hotel. The rooms are big and very elegant and the food is AMAZING! Loved their offer for breakfast and the buffet at the gala dinner was so delicious. I highly recommend it.
After I checked in I took a short nap and went down to the lobby to meet everybody and go out to dinner at a nearby pizza place. In the lobby I chatted with Corinne Thorner and her super funny husband and, after that, off we went. The small pizzeria was lovely and I had a fun night. We chatted about Barbie (duh) and the upcoming sale of the Warhol Barbie doll and we ate LOTS of food, of course. When I went to bed, well after midnight, I was exhausted and fell asleep in an instant.
In the morning I first went to register and then I quickly grabbed breakfast. This convention had a 2 day sales room and I just couldn’t miss going to see what dolls were up for sale.

Just outside of the sales room the silent auction was taking place. Lots of beautiful dolls were auctioned off. Check them out below.
Saturday evening came quickly and we were invited in the gala room of the hotel where a pink party was waiting for us. The pink tables had lots of presents, two types of gorgeous center pieces by Artist Creations and a box wrapped in white and with a pink ribbon was placed on our plates.
Right after the start of the party we were told to open the box that was in front of us and we discovered the beautiful Roma Pink Holiday Barbie doll designed, restyled and retouched by Artist Creations.
A tribute to the Eternal City, this elegant doll was created exclusively for the inagural 2015 Rome Fashion Doll Convetion and trasports us into the welcoming atmosfere and dreamy settings of the most beautiful city in the world.

After we marveled at this beauty and shared gifts we went to admire the beautiful dolls that were auctioned at the Charity Auction. Loved, loved, loved all of them. Honest to God I did. Each was unique and perfect.
The party was great. Lots of great food, laughs and pink everywhere! The evening ended with some dancing but I left earlier than the others because I was tired.
Sunday came with a warm weather and a clear blue sky so I woke up quite early and headed down to the sales room to see the raffle prizes and the special exhibitions. Just as you were about to enter the sales room there was a vintage and rare Barbie display, a Fashion Royalty one, a Monster High one and one with some dolls that I must admit I have no idea what they are called. Yes, I’m terrible…
The raffled items were great! Lots of Integrity Toys, Monster High dolls, some clones and other great items. Too bad I didn’t win. Buhuhu…
And that was the very first Roma Fashion Doll Convention. Can’t wait to come back next year! The 2016 theme is Alta Moda and I was told the convention will take place in another hotel that is in the center of Rome. Hopefully I’ll have more time to visit the city because this time I just spent time in the hotel.
I hope you liked going to thie convention with me and I can’t wait to blog again from the 2016 conventions.
