Tiny Frock Shop – all the tiny necessities for your dolls

One of the things that atracted me to fashion dolls are the small and cute accesories that come with the dolls or that you can buy for them. The first time I’ve heard about Tiny Frock was on Flickr when somebody posted a diorama image that featured some very cool miniatures from Pamela Thomson‘s shop.

tiny accesories

Pamela is a NY fashion designer and former Head Designer of Betsey Johnson, Heatherette and current freelance graphic designer for Anna Sui for over 16 years. When her daughter was born, she and her husband moved to Chicago so her daughter could grow up near family. That is when she rediscovered the love for doll clothes and from that launched Tiny Frock Shop, a place where pre-loved Barbie clothing and accessories are presented as Vogue worthy but sold at mainly milk money prices.

Tiny Frock Shop not only provides the market with a place to purchase inexpensive fashionable resale Barbie clothes, it promotes recycling, inspires play, allows parent and child one on one time to connect. It lls a void in the market for collectors and Barbie doll aciandos to nd fashion forward and Vogue styled clothing for their dolls. In addition, the shop features mini-shops and trend forecasting straight from the runways of Paris, Milan, London and New York all the while taking a tongue in cheek look at how the fashion industry actually works with model proles and behind the scenes imagery and info. Tiny Frock Shop takes Barbie’s world of fashion and transforms it from a childs world to one even adults would love to live in.

The business, started in 2010, has achieved a long roster of fans and customers of all ages and from all parts of the world. Pamela’s mix of fashion, photography, styling, low prices and steller customer service has helped grow Tiny Frock Shop from a hobby to one of the most important and far reaching Barbie sites on the internet. The shop consists of Barbie, and Ken sized 12” doll resale clothing, accessories, furniture, and fully editorial styled pre-loved Barbie dolls which include clothing and accessories. In addition, the shop has made available a variety of out of production and rare new Barbies at all price points, new Integrity Toys fashio n dolls as well as Kurhn Dolls known as the “Barbie of China” and Licca Chan Dolls from Japan. There is also a section dedicated to sewing your own items, which includes downloadable patterns, magazines, bags and more. Tiny Frock Shop also oers fabric and trim packs with some of the most beautiful materials available direct from the NY fashion fabric market. A line of originally designed clothing has been released in January 2016 called TINY FROCK. The line is featured in the Spring 2016 FDQ Magazine and designed, patterned and sewn by Pamela.

The site not only sells product but also gives customers a sneak peek into the world of fashion and how it is actually run from a fun and playful point of view. The company is run by a staff of “dolls” and other “action figures” and our “CEO”, is my daughter Lily who is 7 years old. The “models” even have online profiles with interviews explaining how they “broke” into the business.

How cute is this? :X I love it when I see sooo much passion put into a project.

Be sure to check out the Tiny Frock Shop and see all the wonderful things it has to offer you and your dolls.

Barbie & Ken Batman Vs. Superman 2016

I’ve been so distracted with the whole new Barbie bodies that I forgot to talk on the blog about the gorgeous Barbie and Ken Wonder Woman and Batman from the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman. Maybe a lot of you don’t know this, but I’m a huge DC Comics fan. I enjoy comic books but my favorite publishing house is DC Comics. Wonder Woman is my all time favorite character and I’m counting the days until the release of the new movie. This is a great year for changes. Not only is WW returning in the spotlight but she’ll also have her standalone movie that has begun filming.

I loved the WW doll ever since we saw her last year at SDCC, but now, looking at her in her box, I love her even more. Great packaging and that Batman Ken… Just wow. I’m so impressed. Mattel may be lacking in fabric quality these days, but they are making an effort to make the dolls more realistic so kudos to that. You can preorder the new dolls at Just send them an email. I know the dolls will be coming in stock soon. I hope we’ll get to see Superman also very soon.

New Barbie bodies: Curvy, Petite and Tall

Mark this day in your calendar ’cause it’s the day Barbie has shut down it’s haters. Mattel has unveiled today the new bodies Barbie and her friends will have besides the classic “ideal proportions” one.

Curvy, Tall and Petite are the new sizes of Barbie’s body and I love them! I’m not the kind of person, or collector, that has thought that Barbie is or should be realistic but I’m glad now she is because this way people can stop complaining about her body image and focus on other things.

Now Barbie has supermodel proportions but also has a curvy body, a tall and slim one and a petite and cute one. Now she is trully a model for everybody!! Haters, shut up!

Love, love, love them! The only bad thing is that they are exclusive to the Mattel shops and that’s not ok. But we’ll see if they pop up in “normal” stores from all over the world. Shop them now HERE.

Check out a video of the new dolls on Time Magazine’s website HERE.

2016 Barbie Fashionistas: Ryan, Annika & Grace

I’ve been waiting for a long time to see detailed images of the purple haired Fashionistas 2016 Barbie doll that collectors call Annika. She is so unique! This line is getting better and better and this girl will definitely be one of the favorites from the line.

Grace is also part of the 2016 wave and while she’s cute, she’s a bit plain in my opinion.

I’ve seen this image of Ryan floating around but not didn’t have a chance to post it so here it is. Still can’t get over the molded hair… I just can’t… Hate it with all my heart.

As I have mentioned before, I have names of the upcoming 2016 Fashionistas but their time has not come yet so I’ll wait a bit before publishing them. Btw the dolls still have generic names that describe their fashions. The Annika and Grace are fan names/face mold names and Mattel is yet to give them proper names on their boxes. :(

2016 Soda Shop Barbie doll IRL images

The 2016 Barbie Fan Club has just started and one of the EXCLUSIVE dolls we’ll be able to buy is the Soda Shop Barbie doll. I have talked about her before, just when the promo pictures were first presented, and now I have some IRL images of her (thank you, Raymond!) that have given me the possibility to make up my mind about her.

While her face is cute and sweet and I do appreciate the white underskirt (is that what it’s called?) I HATE the hem on the skirt. So cheap. :( Overall, I’m not getting her. So far I think I’ll just try to get the Black and White Platinum doll. And maybe the articulated Black Dress Silkie.

What are your thoughts on this girl?

IRL images of the 2016 Black Dress Silsktone Barbie doll

First of all, I wonder if Mattel will ask me to take these images down. :)) Last week they were pissed that I published some images from Amazon and they started questioning me HOW I managed to get my hands on them. When I showed them the very public Amazon links, they didn’t reply. Duh!

Anyway, DollGenie has had the Black Dress Silsktone Barbie doll in stock (she’s sold out now) and here are IRL images of her.

silkie black dress barbie1

Even if I don’t like the fact that yet again the doll has no jewelry, I do like this doll. Simple, elegant, clean. She has a beautiful eyemakeup and her updo reminds me of the #1 Barbie doll. I can’t wait to see how she poses, if the new material is sturdy or if it will break.

Welcome to the dolly world, articulated Silkies!
