LBx Couture + Themodsdoll = Nefertiti

August 2, 2016

Nefertiti has been an idol of mine for years. Ever since I was a little girl I was fascinated with ancient history and Nefertiti and Hatshepsut have been too of my favorite historical figures. When I first saw Neferitit’s famous bust in berlin, a few years ago, I cried. Yes, I CRIED!

Today I saw on Facebook this stunning doll by Themodsdoll (her name is Jasmine) that was dressed by a doll artist I have just discovered: LBx Couture (CLICK). She is just perfect!

One of my holy grail dolls is the 2010 Barbie® Doll as Cleopatra and I so wish Mattel would have made Tutankhamon Ken just as they planned on doing. :( here’s a thought: can we have more Gold Label ancient history Barbie and Ken dolls? PLEASE????

Beautiful. October 2017 will be the 100th Anniversary of the movie “Cleopatra” that starred Theda Bara. Theda wore 50 costumes in the film and they were an exquisite combination of history and 1917 fashion design. I am currently trying to make the peacock gown from the banquet scene in the film, her coronation gown with falcon headpiece, and her snake bra gown that is often mocked today, but is actually very artistically designed. I am not talented in sewing, but enjoy making OOAK for my own fun.

Sorry, my costumes will be for Barbie. I am using the fully articulated Barbie’s and repainting them. Thank you.

Too bad the costume isn’t modeled on a black dol. Since when is Nefertiti white? This whitewashing of ancient Egyptians has to stop.

Really beautiful doll, everything about her is just perfect – jewelry, headdress, dress and the doll are chosen perfectly! She couldn’t be more similar to Nefertiti than this!
