2017 Birthday Wishes AA and Hispanic versions

Via Dannii Saumane on The Doll Cafe group we have images of the 2017 Birthday Wishes AA and Hispanic versions. Really, really loving their faces. So sweet! Not crazi about the blonde version, but these looks really cute.

What is wrong with Mattel? Why are they selling playline dolls in their Collector line? These look so cheap! The AA Shani doll looks like they took an 80’s/ early 90’s Asha doll, stuck her in a birthday wishes gown, and are marketing her as a collector line doll. All three dolls from this Birthday Wishes line have horrible facial paint, especially the blonde! Mattel’s sales have been going down yearly. I wish they would compare the dolls from their collector line in the earlier 2000’s to some of the garbage they’re releasing now, and make some much needed changes. Some of the dolls are really good collector quality, and others just seem like a quick, cheap afterthought.

Unfortunately, we all know these dolls won’t look anything like this, will have horrible faces and will have glue seeping into their hair, but—-Shani!? Now, that’s pretty cool…

(BTW—these dolls really ARE meant for children….)

Hey Ada I´ve heard Totally Hair Barbie is going to come back next year, probably a reedition for the 25th anniversary, do you know something about it?

Yes, it’s true. She will be a new version of the 90s doll.

Thank you! How sad to read that, I guess it will be a current Barbie with hollow legs (of course), super long hair and fashion inspired in the doll from the 90s. My illusions just fade away, I wanted a reedition
