2019 Barbie And National Geographic dolls

February 1, 2019

It is official. Barbie has partened with National Geographic to create a series of Barbie sets centered around science, exploration, conservation, and research.

Barbie will be a Wildlife Conservationist, an Astrophysicist, a Polar Marine Biologist, a Wildlife Photojournalist and an Entomologist. All of these are occupations in which women are underrepresented.

The playsets feature relevant accessories authenticated by an advisory council comprised of female National Geographic Explorers, as well as National Geographic magazine editor in chief Susan Goldberg.

Here is our first look at one of the playsets. I am super excited about this series! I am all about teaching children science and exploration so this is right up my alley. Well done, Mattel!

Barbie and National Geographic Butterfly Playset #GDM49 – $21,99
A very small picture of some of the other dolls. Each will retail around $12,40.

I am so super excited about this collaboration! I think it is so inspiring, so amazing, so good for kids. I can’t wait to buy all the sets for my kids. My son will love all the accesories.
