Via Doll Genie I have some very sad news for all the collectors that really wanted the Barbie® and Midge® 50th Anniversary Gift Set in their collection.
For your information… MATTEL has cancelled all orders for the Barbie/Midge Anniversary Set 4/9/2013 – if you didn’t get a shipment of them yet, you will not be getting one
No official statement yet about the reason. 
I bet now the set will start selling for INSANE amounts of eBay.
Looks like this is the year Spain is really making a statement in the Barbie World. The official Barbie Club in Spain is organizing it’s first doll show in September and here are the details:
We have the pleasure to announce that the official Barbie club in Spain “Coleccionistas de Fashion dolls in Madrid ” is going to held in september 13/14/15 the most fun and enjoyble doll event that you can find in our country, the main star will be Barbie doll.
For this event the central theme which was chosen by club members will be “CINEMA”!!! Activities, gifts and convention doll will rivolve about this fascinating theme which will delight you.

According to DollSociety on Flickr, this year we’ll also be getting some new actress Barbies. Melanie Griffith, Mira Sorvino and Rebecca De Mornay will become Barbie dolls later this year. I’m very curious about their face molds. I hope they’ll create new ones that really resemble closely the actresses.

Here are some pictures and a video of the moment when Robert Best unveiled the convention doll, Paris Luncheon Ensemble. Sorry that the video looks funny but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. 
The first time I saw these dolls I knew there would be a huge scandal involving them. And I was right! The Django Unchained dolls have been pulled from the market.
MGA has released yet another line of dolls called Novi Stars. The girls are called Alie Lectric, Ari Roma, Mae Tallick, Una Verse and another doll that will soon be released.
We’re the Novi Stars and we’re landing soon! We’re coming to Earth to try new things, update your fashion trends, and make new friends. We can’t wait to find out what on Earth is going on!?!
So far I have only come across a small picture of one of the real dolls but by the looks of the drawings these are going to be super cute!

- The second Barbie by Magia 2000 from the Cosmopolitan series has been released. She’s called Barbie Loves Tezenis and she’s also a OOAK creation. You can see her below.
- 60′s British fashion doll Sindy might be making a comeback! According to Jerry Reynolds from Pedigree, they are looking for an investor to revive the doll for the 50th anniversary that will be next year.

When I first heard of Bratzillaz I was a little skeptical. They looked and felt way too Monster Highish for me especially as i’m not a Bratz collector. But I have to admit I really enjoy them and I’m definetly going to buy one of them. I have a hunch they will be popular as well with kids and doll colelctors alike.
